Though it may not look like it outside, Spring officially arrives in just three weeks. To prepare for the coming thaw, the Garden Club recently came together after school to work on a colorful array of new bird-houses for our neighborhood's fair feathered-friends. Not only are they artistic, adding a splash of color to the Learning Garden, but they're functional, too.
And if you can't wait to smell the roses this spring, Portland's Flower Show begins this Wednesday, March 6. After an "Opening Night Gala," participants compete for "Best in Show" and can take part in the annual Plant Auction and Lecture Series (i.e. "'Composting': Everything, well almost all you need to know to effectively and conveniently do it yourself!").
